Jaime LEÓN HOLGADO

Experienced project graduate

I am a physicist from Spain, driven by a deep curiosity about the fundamental laws that govern our universe and a passion for transforming complex data into meaningful discoveries. My work is rooted in experimental high-energy physics, where cutting-edge technology and advanced computation meet fundamental science.
Currently, I am part of the Phase-2 upgrade program of the CMS Experiment at CERN, contributing to the development of the Level-1 Scouting project for the High-Luminosity era of the LHC. My research focuses on exploring novel physics analyses that can be performed directly using Level-1 trigger objects, fully leveraging the unprecedented data rates and detector improvements of the HL-LHC upgrades. By pushing analysis capabilities closer to real-time data acquisition, we aim to expand the experiment’s sensitivity to rare and unconventional signatures.
A central pillar of my work is the application of big data techniques to high-energy physics. I actively develop and optimize parallel computing workflows, GPU-accelerated algorithms, and machine learning models to handle the massive data volumes produced by modern collider experiments. Bridging physics and advanced computing, I strive to design scalable, high-performance solutions that unlock new scientific opportunities in the next generation of particle physics experiments
