Hi, I’m Duc, a Physics PhD student at MIT. I grew up in Dong Hoi, a smaller city in central Vietnam, before diving into the world of particle physics here at CERN. My research revolves around the data generated by the Large Hadron Collider. I’m currently working on improving how we identify particle jets (Jet Tagging) in real-time in the CMS L1 Trigger system and participating in analyses that study the properties of the Higgs boson.

Besides particle physics, I’m also fascinated by the intersection of machine learning and computer systems. I enjoy exploring different ways machine learning can help us design better systems and vice versa, and how search and planning can help machine learning models “think” more effectively.

Fields of interest:

  • Higgs Physics
  • Jets
  • Machine Learning and Computer Systems
  • Search and Planning
