Bruno ALVES
Research Scientist
I am a physicist and research engineer with over five years of experience in Big Data Analysis, Machine Learning and AI, Statistics, HPC computing, and GPU programming. I am currently involved in data analysis and the establishment of a high-throughput data stream in the CMS experiment at CERN, with a focus on tracking and calorimetry. Additionally, I perform accurate validation of multiple physics objects used by virtually all members of our experiment. I also work on improving the throughput of the heterogeneous software framework of CMS using Nvidia and AMD accelerators.
I have significant teaching experience in both academic and non-academic settings and am an outreach enthusiast. Currently, I am the sole representative for European early-career particle physics researchers in the Restricted European Committee for Future Accelerators (RECFA).
