Aravind SUNUGAN

Graduate Student

I am a graduate student in Experimental High Energy Physics working with CMS Experiment at CERN, Geneva. I am based at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. I am a keen enthusiast of computing-related fields and have recently been interested in heterogeneous architectures for HPC needs.
For my graduate thesis, I am working towards obtaining one of the first constraints on the quartelinear Higgs self-coupling from the LHC data. I am also involved in the CMS-Trigger group during Run-3 as part of the L1 hardware trigger group.

In my free time, I like to cycle in the streets of Mumbai. I like the monsoon and rain very much. Once the season starts, I frequent many monsoon treks around Mumbai.

I grew up in Kerala, a southern province in India. It’s a beautiful place known for its picturesque backwaters and hill stations.

Field of interest:

  • Higgs Physics
  • Heterogeneous Computing
