First CERN School of Computing in Latin America – Opens for Applications!

For the first time, the CERN School of Computing (CSC) will take place in South America. The CSC Latin America 2026 will be held from 11–24 January 2026 in Santiago, Chile, in collaboration with the SAPHIR Millennium Institute and hosted at the Lo Contador Campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

The CSC’s mission is to create a common scientific culture in computing among young scientists and engineers involved in particle physics or other scientific domains. It aims to promote mobility, foster collaboration, and facilitate the development of large-scale, computing-oriented transnational projects.

Target audience
The school is aimed at postgraduate students (minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent), engineers, and scientists with a few years’ experience in particle physics, computing, or related fields. Applications are open to candidates from all countries and nationalities.

The programme will cover a wide range of computing topics relevant to scientific research and will also include networking opportunities, a cultural programme in Santiago, and a full-day excursion.

This is one of the many supported schools by NGT, so, if you are interested, reach out to your supervisor.
